Country Fish Farm, LLC Service and Fish Delivery Area
CFF, LLC offers three choices to our customers when purchasing fish; pick up at our farm, deliveries and through our many fish days.
Farm Pick Up: To reduce overall cost, customers have the option to purchase fish directly from our fish farm and haul the fish themselves. Normally we are open to the public for fish pick up two days a week, usually Sundays and Mondays in the Spring and Spring during our peak sales periods. Due to other business activities, times open may fluctuate slightly. We will give our hours when you place an order. In addition, days and times for fish pick up will be posted on our bulletin board located near the front gate to our farm.
We highly encourage customers to call in orders for fish. All of the various species and sizes of fish we offer may not be readily available all the time. By placing an order, we will contact you when the fish are available.
To assist customers in transporting larger size scaled fish and channel catfish, we rent 55 gallon plastic barrels equipped with a 12 volt agitator that oxygenates the water. The 12 volt agitator has a power cord that connects to your vehicle's battery. We require a deposit when renting our barrel and agitator. Please bring tie-down straps for securing the barrel to your vehicle.
For a small charge, we also offer fish hauling bags for transporting smaller size scaled fish and grass carp. These hauling bags are 3-mil plastic bags, 18” x 32”. The bags containing water and fish are inflated with oxygen and sealed. When inflated the bags are approximately 2 cubic feet (12” x 12” x 24”). The carrying capacity of the bag depends on specie and size of fish, water temperature and duration of the trip. The most important considerations when using hauling bags are to protect them from being punctured and from exposure to direct sunlight. Direct sunlight will heat up the water and possibly stress or kill the fish. When planning
to use plastic hauling bags, please bring large coolers or other suitable containers with covers. Cardboard boxes with covers also work well. We do not recommend stacking bags in containers.
Customers transporting fish short distances may also use their own containers. We will provide the water to fill containers. Please indicate how you plan to transport your fish when ordering fish, so we can provide container size recommendations.
Deliveries: When coordinating deliveries, please indicate if a four wheel drive truck is necessary. As with most businesses trying to keep product prices competitive and offering additional services, we find it necessary to charge delivery fees. Charges are realistically evaluated on travel distance, fluctuations of fuel cost, dollar amount of the order and difficulty and time required to stock the fish. As a rule-of-thumb our current delivery charge is $1.40 per loaded mile, from our farm, with a $25.00 minimum. Delivery charges for orders over $1,000.00 are normally
negotiable. If you're not in a hurry and have a flexible schedule, we can often coordinate other deliveries in your area with the same truck to help reduce each delivery charge. This is a cost effective practice for you and us.
If we deliver, we guarantee our fish against major losses for seven days after stocking. You will also receive at least 2% extra fish, at no extra charge, to cover an occasional minor loss due to handling the fish and to serve as a token of our appreciation for your business.
Fish Days: Fish days is a term used when fish are delivered to central convenient locations, usually feed stores, where local residents can pick up fish for stocking their pond/lakes. Because of the limitation of space on the truck, the selection of species and sizes of fish offered are minimized; check with us or the store to see what is available. To find where our closest fish day location to you will be, check our fish day schedule. To place orders to be picked up at a store, you need to place your order directly with the store sponsoring the fish day. We also provide free literature for our stores to pass out to their customers to
assist with stocking recommendations and fish transporting requirements to safely transport your fish to your pond/lake.
To be competitive and cost effective, our primary delivery areas are zones 1 and 2 on the map. These two zones are also where most of our fish days are located. For large deliveries, we will usually deliver anywhere within the state of Missouri. Sorry, we do not deliver, or ship fish, outside the state of Missouri.
